About Swanage

Swanage is a beautiful seaside town in the Isle of Purbeck. The town is built around a bay forming part of the Jurassic Coast, a recently classified World Heritage Site. Although small and set amidst beautiful countryside, it has all the amenities of a working town, with shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. It is situated a short drive away from the stunning Studland beach and historic Corfe Castle, and there are many wonderful walks along coastal paths and over cliffs and hills. There are also facilities for horse-riding, golf, fishing and a variety of water sports. Getting to Swanage by public transport is easy, with local buses connecting with Wareham, Poole and Bournemouth. There is also a steam railway which runs from Swanage to Norden.
